1. What should I do before I download my program?
 

Please check your system for and disable any of the following:
Firewall
- These are designed to stop downloads from non-approved sites.
Anti Virus Programs
- These will try to stop or scan a download. It may cause the download to be corrupt or damaged.
Download Monitors
- Programs such as GoZilla! and NetZip are not compatible with our server and will sometimes block or stop downloads.
Screen Savers
- In some instances, screen savers can interfere with the download process. If you have a screen saver that is starting while you are downloading, please disable it temporarily until your download is complete.


 

2. I’ve requested a lot of times the e-mail with my download link but I haven’t received anything.
 

Certain internet providers sometimes are slower than others to deliver e-mails. Sometimes it’s necessary to wait a little longer for them to arrive. Moreover, you may have an anti-spam system which may be blocking the e-mails. In this case, you need to go to your anti-spam interface and authorize this address: admin [ at ] albumphotosartist.com.


 

3. I’ve received my download link, but I didn’t download it right away. When I click on the link, the site says it has expired. What can I do?
 

Actually, the link is available during the time indicated in the e-mail. When this time has passed, you will need to request a new download link at the website. A new download link will be sent to you.


 

4. Inadvertently, I’ve requested a download link, but I’ve made a mistake and requested the Mac version instead of the PC version. How can I have the PC version?
 

You just have to go back to the website, go over the desired version download page and submit your request again. You’ll receive a new link adapted to the requested version.


 

5. I have just received my download link but when I click on it, the website says that the link has expired.
 

Certain mailing software cut the links by putting a part of them in a new paragraph. In this case, you’ll need to copy the whole link, even the part that is in the other paragraph, paste it over the address bar of your browser and hit enter.


 

6. I did not have a button that appears in the browser window to complete the download.
 

In case nothing is displayed above, it means Java is not installed on your computer.

7. JAVA is installed on my computer, but I cannot see the download button. What is the problem?
 

In case Java is installed and you do not see the download button:
- on a PC, you probably have a horizontal yellow bar on top of your browser’s window asking for permission to use Java
- on a Mac, it is a dialog box sometimes hidden under the browser’s window…


 

8. I clicked on the button to download the software. I have a window that tells me where i have to put the downloaded file. Where should I save it?
 

Your Desktop. We do not recommend any other location.


 

9. How can I select my computer’s desktop as destination for the download?
 

In the destination choice window, double-click on the desktop icon to select it as destination. The word “Desktop” should be displayed on top.


 

10. I launched the download, but no download window appeared in my browser
 

This is normal; the button you clicked on transforms itself into a progress bar.
Do not close the window of your browser until the download is complete.


 

11. I downloaded PhotosArtist, but I cannot find it on my computer…
 

Most of the time, Mac or PCs download files coming from the internet in the “downloads” or “MyDocuments” folder. If you cannot find it, search for “PhotosArtist”. Once you found it, move it onto your desktop.


 

12. I did find the downloaded PhotosArtist file, but when I double-click on it, nothing happens…
 

Move it onto your desktop, you should normally be able to unzip and install it from there.


 

13. My downloaded file is already on my computer’s desktop, but when I double-click on it nothing happens…
 

If you are on a PC, you need to download the PC version and the Mac version for a Mac.


 

14. On PC, I have downloaded the software, it’s in my desktop, but it doesn’t start when I double click it.
 

It’s possible that the download is not complete. When the download is finished, the browser webpage refreshes itself and confirms that it has succeeded. If this window didn’t show up in your browser, it means that the download has ended too soon.


 

15. On Mac, when I go to open the zip file I get ---Unable to unarchive 'photoartist-1.1.1r02-osx-installer.zip' into Desktop ( Error 1- operation not permitted)
 

It's possible that the download of the application is not complete.
The ".zip" file must weigh 777061386 bytes.
Did you wait the refresh of the web page at the end of the download ?

a) If the ".zip" file isn't complete, please, download it again and wait until the refresh of the web page.
The web page must show an explicit message that tells you that the download is finished.

b) If the ".zip" file is complete, then try with the terminal window :
- put the ".zip" file on the desktop
- type these lines in terminal window :
cd~/ Desktop
unzip -j PhotosArtist-1.2.0-osx-installer.app.zip


 

16. I have downloaded PhotosArtist, it is installed, but I get lots of errors when trying to launch it, it is not working.
 

You have probably downloaded the update and not the full version of PhotosArtist. You need to download PhotosArtist’s full version the first time and install it.


 

17. After downloading and unzipping the PhotosArtist program on my Mac’s desktop, I launch the install and after asking for my password and install language, an error message is displayed: "Error: couldn't raise admin privileges".
 

You might not be on the “administrator” account, the one allowing you to install programs on this Mac.
However, if you are admin, I invite you to fix the authorisations with the hard drive utility provided by Apple.


 

18. I would like to activate my account, but when I click on the link nothing happens even if I copy-paste the link in my browser’s address bar, I get an error message…
 

If the link does not work, it means it has been cut in half by the mail, you will need to select both lines of the link, and paste those lines as is in the browser’s address bar.

20. How to change the language in which I receive the e-mails from PhotosArtist?
 

Currently, the software is available in 7 languages and the website only in 2: French and English.
If you wish to change the language for the server exchanges, place yourself in the software, either the English or the French version.
Still in the software, go to your account.
Go to the tab ‘Change your personal data’. Don’t change anything of your data but click on the button ‘Validate the modifications in my account’, our server will model on the language you chose in the software. You can then, choose another language to use the software.


 

21. Sometimes, with some PCs, PhotosArtist quits without reason when you create an album or does not start even if he had already run before.
 

This is an issue of permissions. The solution: in the "start menu", right click on the icon of PhotosArtist and, in the context menu that appears, choose "open as administrator".
